Android Wear may be taking a turn for the worst, but that isn’t stopping Google from releasing updates to ensure that the software is running as smoothly as possible. The Big G has started rolling out a new update for Wear which brings Android Oreo in tow.
The update itself is not all that exciting, unless you’re a stickler for vibration settings and battery saving features. Some of the included features include the following:
The big catch with this latest update is the fact that it is only rolling out to the LG Watch Sport which launched alongside Android Wear 2.0 back in February. However, the post made in the Android Wear Developers Google+ community states that the update rollout will depend on the manufacturer, which is always something leaves us hanging our heads.
Nonetheless, it’s nice to see that Android Wear hasn’t completely been forgotten about just yet. Hopefully, we’ll see a more conscientious effort from Google in the world of Android Wear to make it a true competitor to the likes of the Apple Watch and Samsung’s Gear S lineup. Maybe, just maybe, we can get a Pixel smartwatch in the near future.
