The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition was officially unveiled today, sporting all the of the features that have been revealed in the leaks over the past few weeks. While the basic spec of the phone are in line with the original OnePlus 6T, the McLaren edition packs in an additional 2GB of RAM. To be clear, this isn’t the first device on the market with 10GB of RAM, but it’s definitely the most affordable. OnePlus 6T McLaren edition will go on sale in North America for $699 and €699 over in Europe, making it $120 more than the regular OnePlus 6T and the most expensive device OnePlus has ever featured in its lineup. That being said, it’s still substantially cheaper than most other flagship smartphones which range from $800 to $1,000.
The only other spec improvement offered by the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition is its new Warp Charge 30 which promises to deliver “a day’s power” in just 20 minutes of charging. This 20 minutes connected to the new charger actually deliver a 50% charge to the phone’s 3700mAh battery while keeping the phone cool while charging.
From a design standpoint, the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition sports a few visual tweaks which include a carbon fiber texture below the rear glass, McLaren’s Papaya Orange highlight along the bottom and side edges and the same color applied to the braided charging cord. The phone also comes with a unique box which includes a McLaren booklet and a little plaque with the McLaren Speedmark logo in F1 AA-grade carbon fiber.
