Samsung continues to push the Android Pie update to its devices and today it hits the Verizon and Unlocked models of the Galaxy Note 9 in the U.S.
Owners of both the unlocked Note 9 and Verizon model have noted on the Samsung official forums and Reddit that the update has begun hitting their devices, bringing the software version to PPR1.180610.011.N960USQU1CSB3 with an OTA patch weighing in at 1671.64MB.
The Android Pie update brings the Galaxy Note 9 to the latest available software, despite Android Q beta right around the corner. It also updates the Samsung experience software to One UI, which in itself brings a number of improvements that focus on improving the one-handed operation of the device and the ability to remap Bixby.
You’ll also get the security patch for February to patch bugs in the Android software and One UI software.
While the owners of Verizon and Unlocked Note 9’s can revel in the latest Android Pie goodness, it doesn’t detract from the fact that the update comes almost a year to the day that Android Pie was announced. Let’s hope the arrival of Android Q and Project Treble support can speed up the Android version distribution in the future.
