Did you own a Nexus 6P? Google and Huawei have proposed a settlement agreement which would allow Nexus 6P owners to receive up to $400 for the phone’s battery issues. To qualify for the settlement check, Nexus 6P owners will have to prove that they purchased the device on or after September 25th.
Previously, Google had offered up a warranty replacement program which allowed Nexus 6P owners to swap out their phone for a Pixel XL. Those who took advantage of the device swap are not eligible for the full $400, but can still cash in for a $10 settlement. It’s not the best outcome, but I’m sure that quite a few people will be more than happy to have a $10 bill in their pocket.
The final terms of the settlement still need to be approved by the courts. That should happen on May 9th which is the next court date for the class action lawsuit.
If you happened to own the Nexus 6P, leave us a comment and let us know if you think this $400 settlement per device is worth the frustration that the phone caused.
