OnePlus is set to unveil at least two new devices tomorrow at the launch event that will see the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro brought into the world. The company is setting up a number of pop-up events across the world that will enable people to get their hands on the devices and skip the pre-order queues. Both devices have had their fair share of leaks and we have a pretty good idea how each will shape up. If you’ve missed our coverage of the OnePlus 7 series, here’s a roundup of what we know so far.
Price
While the focus of the coverage and promotional material has focused on the OnePlus 7 Pro, there is also a regular OnePlus 7 that would have historically been the only device launching. Instead, this year, OnePlus has decided to position the OnePlus 7 as a lower-end offering in favor of the OnePlus 7 Pro flagship. Being positioned as such means the specs will differ slightly from the Pro version to hit a lower price point.
We have seen various leaks that suggest the pricing of the OnePlus 7 Pro which pegs the device at €699/€709 for the OnePlus 7 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 128GB. This rises up to €819 for the model with 12GB of RAM and we can expect similar pricing in U.S Dollars. The OnePlus 7 will be slightly lower, which is expected to start at $550 with at least the OnePlus 7 Pro an exclusive to T-Mobile at launch.
Specs
The OnePlus 7 Pro has had various details teased over social media over recent weeks, the most recent of which is confirmation the device will feature UFS 3.0 storage which will deliver more than double the bandwidth of the current UFS 2.1 standard. The device is also set to feature a 90Hz QHD+ display with HDR10+ support, making it one of the best panels available on an Android smartphone. A differentiating factor between the regular OnePlus 7 and the Pro model will be the front-facing camera housing, which will be a pop-up mechanism on the Pro model while the regular OnePlus 7 will retain the notch.
The lower end OnePlus 7 model will be similar to the current 6T, featuring a 6.4-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 855 processor, a choice of 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB of RAM and storage, a 3,700 mAh battery with 20W fast charging, and dual 48MP/5MP cameras on the rear.
The OnePlus 7 Pro bumps the screen to 6.7-inches with a 16-megapixel motorized front-facing camera, 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging, and a triple rear camera array with a 48MP main sensor with OIS, 8MP 3x zoom sensor and 16MP wide angle. The early benchmarks of the flagship suggest the device is the fastest Android device on the market.
