The LG V50 ThinQ 5G is the latest 5G-enabled smartphone to make its way to Verizon. LG’s device is expected to be available starting on June 20th for an even $1,000 or 48 payments of $42. While paying a grand for a smartphone may not sound that appealing to some, Verizon’s price for the LG V50 ThinQ 5G is pretty reasonable since Sprint is selling the same smartphone for $1,152 or even Verizon’s $1,300 asking price for the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.
Typically, Verizon would charge an extra $10/month for 5G service, but the company is currently waiving the charge for anyone who signs up and is on its Above Unlimited or Beyond Unlimited plan.
Before you head on over to Verizon’s website or your local Verizon store, we’d like to remind you that the company’s 5G coverage is still quite sparse at the moment. Verizon’s two main cities with decent coverage are Chicago and Minneapolis, but it claims that 5G service will be switched on in up to 30 markets by the end of 2019. That being said, Verizon’s 5G service mainly only works outdoors which means you’ll likely only get the full benefit of 5G while browsing the web while sitting on a bench in the park or catching up on Twitter while crossing the street.
