Pixel 4 vs Pixel 3 camera comparison: did it really get better?

With the Pixel 4 making its debut last week, many of you have been wondering if the phone is actually that much better than the Pixel 3 from last year. Google has been steadily upping their game when it comes to computation photography, but the hardware offered by the new Pixel 4 isn’t really that much better than that of the Pixel 3. Sure, the Pixel 4 has an extra 16MP camera on the back with a 2x telephoto lens, but the phone also only has one front-facing camera while the Pixel 3 has two.

Rather than simply tell you about our findings when comparing the Pixel 3 to the new Pixel 4, we thought we’d put together a collection of images and videos captured by both devices and show them to you side-by-side so that you can make up your own mind.
