Unveiled last month alongside the Pixel 4, Google’s new Nest Wifi can now be purchased for as little as $169. While the entry price point may sound appealing, it only gives you the main Nest Wifi router (up to 2,200 square feet of coverage) which means you’ll be missing out on the system’s mesh networking features and the Google Assistant integrations which only come with the supplementary access points. For an extra $100, you can Nest Wifi with one extra access point which promises to cover 3,800 square feet or get two extra access points for $349 if you need 5,400 square feet of WiFi coverage.
Nest WiFi can be purchased directly from the Google Store, Best Buy and other retailers. Amazon is selling the stand-alone Nest WiFi router for $169 and a unique bundle that includes two of the main routers for $299 since Amazon doesn’t want to sell Nest WiFi with Google Assistant integration.
The original Google Wifi has been the best-selling mesh WiFi system for the past few years. Google faster speeds and Google Assistant integration built in, Nest WiFi is poised to be just as successful for Google.
