More Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 details leaked

0

It is largely expected that Samsung will be launching a new foldable smartphone later this year. The handset in question is rumored to be the successor to last year’s Galaxy Fold, where presumably it will be known as the Galaxy Fold 2. Now thanks to a tweet by Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, additional information about the handset has surfaced.

For starters, Young seems to confirm an earlier report by SamMobile in which they claim that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be slightly cheaper than its predecessor, albeit not by much. Young claims that the phone could be priced between $1,780 to $1,980, which is in line with the previous report that suggested that the phone could be priced about $100 cheaper than before.

This is because instead of forcing the 512GB model onto customers, Samsung could offer the Galaxy Fold 2 in a 256GB base model that will make it cheaper. In addition to the lower price tag, Young also claims that the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a bigger and better front and main display, a higher-resolution camera, support for 5G, and interestingly enough, support for the S Pen.

Given that the Galaxy Fold acts as a smartphone and a tablet, the inclusion of an S Pen would actually be a pretty awesome feature to have, but whether or not this rumor pans out remains to be seen.
