How to SIM unlock the LG V50

Back in 2019, LG took the wraps off the LG V50. Unlike other companies like Samsung and Huawei, LG decided to skip the foldable phone bandwagon. Instead, the company decided to approach it a bit differently by offering an optional secondary display accessory. This ultimately gave users the freedom of choosing whether they wanted a larger display or a more conventional smartphone, plus it was cheaper too.

Getting the unlock code from your carrier

The good news is that unlocking your LG V50’s SIM card can be a free process. If you’d rather not pay for a SIM unlocking service, your carrier can actually unlock your phone’s SIM for free, although we should point out that there are several requirements that you will need to meet in order to get it done.

• For starters, the LG V50 needs to have been paid off in full. Given that most carriers sell their phones on installment plans paid through a 24-month contract, there is a chance you might not have paid off your device just yet.

6. Once you’ve received your code, swap out the current SIM on your phone
7. Enter the SIM unlock code that you received in your email and you should be good to go

Getting the unlock code from a third-party service

Of course, not everyone will be eligible for a free SIM unlock from their carrier due to possibly not meeting some of the requirements we mentioned above, but not to worry.
