Samsung Galaxy S21 might offer wildly differing experiences between models

We all know that Samsung uses different chipsets for different markets when it comes to its flagship phones. For example, when the Galaxy S20 was launched, Samsung used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset across all the models for the US market, while some other markets got an Exynos chipset.

For the most part, Samsung claims that there is no difference in terms of performance, but that could change with 2021’s flagship phones. This is according to a tweet by a user called MauriQHD who claims that with the Galaxy S21, Samsung could be using different chipsets between the models.

The tweet claims that for the top of the line model, the alleged Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, it will be powered by an Exynos 1000 chipset, while the base Galaxy S21 could be powered by the Exynos 991/992. This is a bit strange when you consider that there will no doubt be differences in performance between the two Exynos chipsets.

We don’t have the benchmarks or specs yet so we can’t say for sure how different it will be, but this doesn’t look too good if true. This is because it would seem that Samsung would be forcing customers to pay more for the Galaxy S21 Ultra to get the flagship experience, while the base Galaxy S21 won’t be as powerful.

that is being debated as the roster, the 990 was considered too, but not much success, so far*
they are also talking about changing the name Exynos, so a 2×1 leak i guess 🙂

There has been a bit of a fuss surrounding the use of the Exynos chipsets, where users with Exynos-powered Samsung devices have found them to be not quite as powerful as their Qualcomm variants. Like we said, Samsung has insisted that there is no difference, although the benchmarks beg to differ. It is a bit early to start speculating about the Galaxy S21, so take it with a grain of salt.
