The first week of August is going to be quite a busy time for Samsung as the company is set to unwrap its next slate of devices. Not only are we expecting to see the Galaxy Note 20, but there are also rumors about the Galaxy Beans (headphones), the Galaxy Watch 3, and potentially the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold.
As is tradition leading up to a new smartphone announcement, leaks are springing all over the place, especially around the Z Fold 2 5G. Late last night, we saw a semi-blurry image of the upcoming foldable, confirming the new name. It’s quite a mouthful, but today, we are learning even more with some fresh renders from the team over at MySmartPrice.
What is the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G bringing?
From the renders, we can see that we are going to have a large camera module, falling in line with what we are likely to see from the Note 20 and the Galaxy S20 line. On the front, Samsung is fixing my biggest complaint about the original Z Fold and bringing a larger display to span most of the front “flap”.
As for the display on the inside of the Fold, Samsung is moving away from the notch and bringing its popular Infinity-O display. This will give you even more screen real estate with this bad boy.
From these renders, it does seem like the hinge itself is a bit thicker than its predecessor, but that’s not unsurprising. Samsung has taken the last couple of years to improve the hinge, and this is likely just the result of that. Hopefully, it doesn’t hinder pocketability.
While there are new rumors surrounding the specs of the Z Fold 2 5G, here’s what has been shared:

- 5G connectivity
Finally, it seems that the new foldable from Samsung will be priced similarly to the original Z Fold, coming in at just shy of $2,000. That’s quite a hefty sum to pay, but if you want to continue living on the bleeding edge of technology, there’s really no better place to go than with Samsung.
