Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro with Snapdragon 888 set for December 28 launch

0

When Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 888 chipset, it was largely assumed that the first smartphones to use the new chipset would debut in 2021. It turns out that we won’t have to wait that long because Xiaomi has since confirmed that they plan to launch the Mi 11 Pro on the 28th of December, according to a post the company made on Weibo.

The Mi 11 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 and it could possibly be the first smartphone in the world to use the new chipset. We did hear several handset makers such as Oppo and Realme announce that they will be among the first to use the Snapdragon 888 chipset, but there is a chance Xiaomi will be beating them to the market, unless an announcement takes place between now and then.

Xiaomi’s launch of the Mi 11 Pro is expected to take place in China, but the company did not mention when they will announce it in other markets, although this isn’t surprising as sometimes Chinese companies tend to launch in China first before an international launch follows.

Not much is known about the Mi 11 Pro, apart from the fact that it is powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset, so we’ll have to wait until the 28th of December for all the official details.
