Even if you aren’t an iPhone user, the AirPods Pro are some of the best Bluetooth headphones available. Although the better features are reserved for iOS users, the AirPods are still quite good for Android owners. These offer a great experience for everyone, since at its core, the Pro’s are just Bluetooth headphones.
But just because they are Bluetooth headphones, that doesn’t mean that you won’t run into problems from time to time and need to reset them.
Why would you reset the AirPods Pro?
From time to time, you may end up coming across some issues that render your AirPods Pro practically useless. These are a few common issues that have continued to sprout up ever since the AirPods Pro were released. Here are some reasons for why you would want to reset the AirPods Pro.
- Force Sensor not working properly
- Active Noise Cancellation working in one earbud
- Audio is cutting in and out
- AirPods seem to be “rattling” or “buzzing”
How to reset the AirPods Pro
Before you try any other methods of fixing your AirPods Pro, you should attempt to reset them. This process is simple and straight forward, as it forces the AirPods to forget any paired devices.
Here is how to reset the AirPods Pro:
- Place both AirPods Pro in the charging case.
- Close the lid.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Open the lid.
- From your Android phone, open the Settings app.
- Locate the AirPods Pro from your list of connected devices.
- Tap Forget.
- With the AirPods Pro case lid open, press and hold the button on the back for 15 seconds.
- Once the light starts flashing amber, open the Settings app on your phone.
- Pair your AirPods Pro.
While you are pressing the button, watch the charging light on the front of the case. The light will flash white and then amber after a few seconds. Once the light turns amber, the AirPods Pro have been reset.
Then, just open the case, unlock your iPhone and pair the two products together just like you did on launch day. It’s important to note that the AirPods Pro will unpair themselves from any of your iCloud-connected devices, in addition to the iPhone.
