The best alternative to the OnePlus 9 Pro is finally on sale

In 2021, whenever you see a phone powered by the Snapdragon 888 while offering a fast refresh rate and a quad-camera array, you likely expect the price to be around $1,000. ZTE surprised everyone with its announcement of the Axon 30 Ultra and the ultra-low starting price of just $749.

In Nick’s unboxing and initial camera test video, he was rather impressed by what ZTE is bringing to the market here. This is a clear competitor to both the OnePlus 9 Pro and the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but instantly has a leg up due to the much-lower starting price.

Speaking of which, if you’ve been waiting for the Axon 30 Ultra to become available, the wait is finally over. You can pick up ZTE’s latest flagship starting today for $749 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, or $849 if you want 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Other specs for the Axon 30 Ultra include a vibrant 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with support for a variable refresh rate going from 60Hz all the way up to 144Hz. There’s a 4,600mAh battery under the hood, and ZTE is even including a 66W fast charger in the box.

ZTE also packed some pretty impressive camera hardware into its latest device, headlined by a 64MP Sony IMX686 lens. You’ll also find a 64MP wide-angle sensor, along with an additional 64MP wide-angle lens. Rounding out the pack is the 8MP telephoto lens which offers 5x optical zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom.

These are the countries and regions where you can pick up the Axon 30 Ultra

Currently, you can grab the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra today and the company states it will ship within three days. But you’re definitely not going to wait because we wouldn’t be surprised if shipping times start to slip.
