We’re getting closer and closer to the Wear OS-powered Galaxy Watch 4

Now that Google I/O 2021 has come and gone, we’ve learned about some pretty awesome changes coming to Wear OS. Samsung and Google are working together, along with Fitbit integration, to try and build a wearable platform that everyone loves.

While we continue sitting around and waiting for Google to actually release the Pixel Watch, Samsung already confirmed that its next smartwatch will be powered by the new version of Wear OS. This will likely be called the Galaxy Watch 4, and will consist of a standard Galaxy Watch successor, along with an updated version of the Galaxy Watch Active.

Here are the four models that are expected:

• SM-R860 (Watch Active4 39mm)
• SM-R870 (Watch Active4 43mm)
• SM-R880 (Watch4 41mm)
• SM-R890 (Watch4 45mm)

Although we aren’t exactly sure as to when these smartwatches will actually arrive, it appears that we’re getting closer. All four models of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch passed through 3C certification, a regulatory board in China.

This doesn’t really confirm all that much about what the smartwatches will look like or what will be under the hood. What the certification does confirm is that charging speeds will come in around 5W. Plus, it seems that Samsung will continue the trend of ditching the included power adapter in the box.
