Yesterday, OnePlus unveiled the latest device in its Nord lineup, but we’re still awaiting the successor to the Nord N100. There have been more than a few leaks and rumors making waves, but the latest leak comes directly from the FCC database (via Android Authority).
It appears that an unknown OnePlus device has passed through the FCC certifications, with two different model numbers. The listing provides a model number of DE2118 and DE2117, which we speculate could be a carrier version and an unlocked variant.
The problem we’re having here though is that the model numbers don’t match up with the OnePlus Nord N10 and N100 which featured a “BE” prefix to the model. It’s entirely possible that OnePlus moved to the “DE” prefix to signify that these are different devices.
It’s a bit too early in the year to consider these devices to be the OnePlus 9T, as the OnePlus 9 series has only been available for a few months. This is why we are leaning towards a surprise announcement of the Nord N200 now that it has passed through the FCC.
So what is the Nord N200 going to bring to the U.S. market? CEO Pete Lau sat down with PCMag recently, and not only confirmed that the Nord N200 was coming, but also confirmed that it will feature an FHD+ display and support for 5G connectivity. The display will measure in at 6.49-inches while sporting a 90Hz refresh rate and will be equipped with a triple camera setup.
But what makes the Nord N200 so exciting is that this will be the company’s least-expensive 5G phone to date. Lau confirmed that the price of the company’s upcoming device would start at under $250, which is pretty great considering everything you’ll be getting.
Regardless of whether the phone that passed through the FCC is the Nord N200 or not, one thing is for certain. We’re getting really close to the launch of another OnePlus device here in the U.S.
