It seems like every few hours there’s another leak or rumor showing up in regards to the upcoming lineup of Samsung devices. From the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 to the Galaxy Watch 4 lineup, it’s never been more evident that we’re close to the finish line.
The latest leak comes via Geekbench, as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has appeared, confirming what we already suspected. The device in question is running Android 11, while being powered by the Snapdragon 888 and featuring 12GB of RAM.
Even without the various leaks and rumors, it was already suspected that the SD888 would be at the helm for the Z Fold 3. Qualcomm only just announced the Snapdragon 888+, meaning that it’s too late in the game for Samsung to switch to the new processor. But that’s not exactly a bad thing, as the 888+ is just a slightly overclocked version of the SD888.
Previously, the Z Fold 3 passed through the FCC confirming that it will include S-Pen support, along with a 4,275mAh battery. There won’t be any super-fast quick charging as the FCC listing states that it will only feature 25W charging speeds. As for the displays, we’re going to have a 6.23-inch cover display, and a 7.55-inch foldable display.
Samsung has not officially announced when its next Unpacked event will take place. But all of the rumors are pointing to an announcement for a slew of new products sometime in August.
