Next Thursday, Honor will be hosting an event where the company will be announcing its new Honor Magic 3 lineup of devices. Although Honor has already confirmed some of the key specs, including being one of the first phones to launch with the Snapdragon 888 Plus.
Thanks to results from both AnTuTu and Geekbench, we are now able to fill in some of the gaps as to what other specs the Magic 3 series will have. With the AnTuTu benchmark, it was revealed that the phone will include 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, along with 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Additionally, these benchmarks confirmed that Honor will be using a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the results do not provide any indication as to the size or resolution of the screen.
In the Geekbench 4 results, one of the phones with model number ELZ-AN10 provided a 3,556 single-core score and a 10,257 multi-core score. This version of the Magic 3 featured 8GB of RAM along with running Android 11.
Recently, a video of Honor CEO George Zhao was posted showing off the Magic 3 in a pre-production protective case. This revealed that at least one of the Magic 3 variants will feature a total of five rear-facing cameras. Leaks and rumors point to a 50MP main lens, a trio of 64MP cameras, along with either a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor or a 2MP depth sensor.
Other rumors claim the Magic 3 will include a 6.76-inch OLED display with a 2772 x 1344 resolution. The base model will support up to 66W fast wired charging, while a potential “Magic 3 Pro” version will offer 100W wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.
Honor’s Magic 3 event is taking place next Thursday on August 12. It’s going to be a busy week, but we’ll have to see if Honor can steal the headlines from Xiaomi and Samsung.
