It seems that Xiaomi is going down the “slow-burn” route when it comes to teasing the upcoming Mi Mix 4. Earlier in the week we learned about an event taking place on August 10th, then the company confirmed the Mi Mix 4 would make its debut at the event. Early this morning, another teaser has been making its rounds on Twitter, showing off a full-screen outline sans a notch or hole punch for the selfie camera.

Last year, Xiaomi showed off its under-screen selfie camera technology, claiming that the first device with this feature would launch in 2021. Now that we’re in August, time’s running out and we’ve already seen more than a few Xiaomi devices released so far. But considering that Xiaomi’s Mi Mix lineup has a tendency of being the most futuristic (think Mi Mix Fold), it makes sense for the Mix 4 to sport this tech.
More recently, we’ve seen a video of a supposed Xiaomi display that is not only flexible, but the selfie camera cannot be seen unless the screen is darkened. It’s likely that this is the display that the company will use with its next flagship handset.
While specific details have been sparse, a recent TENAA filing revealed that the Mi Mix 4 will come in two RAM configurations — 8GB or 12GB. This will be paired with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, while also supporting dual-SIM 5G connectivity.
As this is likely going to be a flagship device, we’re expecting to see the Snapdragon 888 at the helm. Battery life should be pretty great with a 4,500mAh cell, and Xiaomi is rumored to include 120W wired fast charging. Surprisingly, we have not heard much in regards to what the main camera system will offer. With less than a week before the event, expect to hear a bit more from Xiaomi before it announces the Mi Mix 4.
