Yesterday, Honor announced its first flagship lineup since breaking out from under Huawei’s wings. Today, the company has announced a new device that is almost as intriguing but just as impressive with the Honor X20.
The Honor X20 features a 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. There’s a 16MP hole-punch selfie camera in the top left corner, while being housed in a pill-shaped cutout despite there only being one selfie camera.
Powering the Honor X20 is the MediaTek Dimensity 900, which is MediaTek’s equivalent to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. The X20 comes in two different RAM configurations, along with two different storage options — 6GB or 8GB, and 128GB or 256GB. But the Honor X20 has also been confirmed as being able to take advantage of virtual RAM expansion. This makes use of storage swap and can provide an additional 2GB of RAM, bumping up to 8GB or 10GB, respectively.
Moving to the back, the X20 features a triple camera array, headlined by a 64MP main lens, along with a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. According to Honor, the X20 includes Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), which is a nice touch for those who plan to regularly snap pictures and videos. Speaking of videos, the Honor X20 is also capable of “double-sided recording”. This allows you to record videos with both the front and back cameras at the same time.
Battery life should be pretty solid thanks to the power efficiency of the Dimensity 900 and the included 4,300mAh cell. But if you find yourself needing to top off, you’ll be able to do so rather quickly with the included 66W fast charging. Honor claims this will get your phone from 0-50% in just 15 minutes.
The Honor X20 is available for purchase starting today, but it’s limited to a China-only release for now. Pricing for Honor’s latest phone starts at $295 for the 6GB/128GB version and goes up to $385 for the 8GB/256GB model.
