According to The T-Mo Report (via XDA), the Google and T-Mobile partnership from back in March may soon start providing benefits to T-Mobile subscribers. In a document shared, T-Mobile is gearing up to include a Google One subscription plan for its users.
This new subscription will arrive for all of T-Mobile’s postpaid customers, along with its business customers provided that the account has 12 lines or less. For just $5 per month, you’ll be provided with 500GB of storage space across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, along with the following features:
- Seamless device backup for photos, videos, contacts, and more
- Restore feature to transfer data from an old device to a new one
- Ability to call, email, or chat with a Google expert for help with Google products via the Google One app or website.
- Share storage, support, and benefits with up to 5 family members.
Currently, Google One offers three different plans starting at $1.99 per month for 100GB and going up to $9.99 per month for 2TB. There’s also a “middle” plan with 200GB of storage, priced at $2.99 per month. This potential Google One plan from T-Mobile would wedge right in between, offering a 500GB option for just $5 per month.
One potential downside to this new promotion affects Sprint plan customers. It seems that Sprint subscribers are not eligible for this plan, but instead, will be offered an “exclusive 3-month trial via T-Mobile Tuesdays”. This could be rather disappointing, or it just may be another way for T-Mobile to entice customers to switch plans.
In addition to potentially bringing this plan to its subscribers, the above material reveals that T-Mobile subscribers will also get one month for free. At the time of this writing, T-Mobile has not shared this new feature, but The T-Mo Report suggests that the Un-carrier will begin offering this on September 1.
