How many of you remember watching Dick Tracy or reading its comics back in the day? Remember how cool it was when Tracy was able to talk into his wrist watch and communicate with others? If you want to experience that for yourself, then you might be interested to learn that Samsung has released a new WalkieTalkie app for its Galaxy Watch 4.
If this is a feature that sounds familiar, it is because Apple actually has a similar feature on the Apple Watch and has had it for a number of years now, but it looks like Samsung users can finally get in on the fun.
The caveat here is that the other person you’re trying to communicate with also needs to have a Galaxy Watch and the app installed, so if you’re trying to use it to communicate with someone else who has a different watch, then you’re out of luck. It is kind of a novelty feature, but if you need a quick way to send a message to a friend or family member who might also happen to own a Galaxy Watch, then this could be it.
Also, Samsung notes that its WalkieTalkie app will actually allow more than two users to communicate at once, whereas the Apple Watch’s feature is limited to two users, so this could be an alternative way to have a group conversation. If this sounds like fun, head on over to the Play Store for the download.
