Earlier this year, there was a rumor that suggested that Samsung might be looking to kill off their Galaxy Note series. It explains why the company finally brought the S Pen to its Galaxy S series and other handsets, no longer making it a Galaxy Note exclusive, but then a subsequent report suggested that the Note wasn’t cancelled after all.
Samsung themselves came forward to say that they decided to postpone the new Note to 2022, opting to launch two brand new foldables instead. This would suggest that all is well with the Note series, right? Maybe, maybe not.
According to a report from GalaxyClub.nl, they have discovered that the company has renewed the trademarks for a bunch of handsets, include the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Z series, but conspicuously missing from that list was the Galaxy Note series. A simple explanation could be that Samsung forgot, but that seems unlikely.
If that is not the case, then the only other explanation could be Samsung might be killing off the series as per the original rumors, or another possibility that is purely speculation on our end, is that they might end up rebranding it instead.
At this point in time short of an official statement, we have no idea what’s going on, but the lack of the trademark renewal certainly paints a bleak future.
