We have been hearing rumors that there could be a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE in the works, and some had even expected it to launch alongside Samsung’s foldable phones back in August, but we were greeted by nothing. So what gives? Has the phone been cancelled?
It turns out no, and there is some good news too. A report from Korean publication ETNews claims that Samsung has apparently solved the production woes that plagued the Galaxy S21 FE, and that mass production of the phone has resumed. They also claim that at this rate, it will most likely be in the fourth quarter of 2021 that the phone will launch, although we have to wonder if it’s still relevant then.
Apparently the initial delay had to do with the shortage of semiconductors, a problem affecting not just Samsung, but the entire mobile industry as well as other industries that rely on the technology, which is pretty much most electronic gadgets.
While the Galaxy S21 FE’s launch might be a bit late, it could still have its appeal. It would probably end up being slightly cheaper compared to the Galaxy S21 flagships from earlier this year, and based on the rumors, could even come with updated specs, so it might be a good phone for those who don’t want to spend money on 2022’s Galaxy S22, or either of Samsung’s foldables.
