Supposed OnePlus 9 RT passes through Geekbench with the Snapdragon 888 and 12GB of RAM

For the past couple of months, we’ve been seeing rumors surrounding a potential OnePlus 9 RT. The device is expected to arrive in the next few weeks, but up until now, we haven’t known too much about it.

Over the weekend, a new OnePlus device appeared on Geekbench powered by the Snapdragon 888. The device carries a model number of MT2110 which doesn’t line up with anything else in the company’s current offering. Additionally, this device is using Android 11, and sports 12GB of RAM.

If this is, in fact, the OnePlus 9 RT, then it would come as a bit of a surprise given that previous rumors have pointed to the device being powered by the Snapdragon 870. Aside from the cost differences, the SD870 might have been a better option simply because the SD888 has a history of over-heating.

As for the actual Geekbench results, the MT2110 features a single-core score of 818 and a 3246 multi-core score. This falls a bit short of other SD888-powered devices we’ve seen this year, but this could just be a case of pre-production hardware and software being tested, instead of one that will hit virtual store shelves.

Previous reports claim that the OnePlus 9 RT will feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also said to be using a triple-camera setup, headlined by a 50MP lens along with a 16MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensor. Different configurations are expected to be made available, starting with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and going up to 12GB/256GB. Finally, we’re expecting to see Warp Charge 65T to provide the 4,500mAh battery with plenty of juice.

Considering that the OnePlus 9T has been canned for this year, the 9 RT looks to take its place. Unfortunately, we aren’t sure yet as to whether this will see a limited release similar to the Nord 2, or if it will be available in more regions.
