In just a couple of days, the OnePlus 9RT will officially make its debut, after being confirmed by OnePlus directly. Up to this point, we haven’t seen the normal wave of teasers and “hype trains” that we are accustomed to seeing from the company for a new device. But thanks to Ishan Agarwal on Twitter, many of specs for OnePlus’ upcoming device have been leaked.
The Matte Black color option for the OnePlus 9RT looks so good… Can't be just me who thinks this is the best-looking OnePlus phone this year, definitely better than 9 and 9 Pro even.

Previous rumors pointed to the Snapdragon 870 providing the power for the next OnePlus device. It seems that this won’t be the case, as OnePlus will instead rely on the Snapdragon 888, just like the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. OnePlus will also be using LPDDR5 RAM, however, we don’t know how much the 9RT will include. To go along with this, OnePlus is adopting the “RAM Swap” feature that has arrived in more Android phones as of late, essentially providing up to an additional 7GB of RAM using the onboard storage.
OnePlus 9RT will feature Larger Vapor Cooling, better heat dissipation.
It is the first OnePlus Smartphome with 600Hz Touch Sampling Rate.

According to the leaked marketing materials provided by Agarwal, here’s everything else that we can expect to see from the 9RT:
- Snapdragon 888
- LPDDR5 RAM
- Up to 7GB Virtual/Dynamic RAM
- UFS 3.1 Storage
- Samsung E4 display
- 120Hz refresh rate
- 600Hz Touch Sampling Rate
- 4,500mAh battery
- Warp Charge 65T
- Larger Vapor Color
Agarwal didn’t stop there, as OnePlus will also be debuting the new OnePlus Buds Z2, and some marketing material was also leaked for that. The Buds Z2 could offer up to 40db of Noise Cancelling, matching the OnePlus Buds Pro.

Previous leaks and rumors suggest the Buds Z2 will include an IP55 water and dust resistance rating, along with Bluetooth 5.2, and fast charging. The earbuds could provide up to five hours of playback with just a 10 minute charge. And total battery life is expected to come in around 30 hours or so, with seven hours of playback time with ANC turned off.
Despite confirming plans to skip the “T” model in 2021, OnePlus will debut the 9RT on October 13 at an event in China. We aren’t expecting the 9RT to see a global launch, which would be rather disappointing, but maybe OnePlus has a surprise in store for us.
