Another day, another leak for the Galaxy S21 FE. This was one of the most highly-anticipated phones of the year, but it’s turned out to feel like a bit of vaporware. That could all change in just a few short weeks, as rumors suggest that Samsung could unveil the device during CES 2022. But thanks to the folks over at WinFuture, a new leak spills all of the beans about Samsung’s upcoming handset.
In addition to some marketing materials and official-looking renders, WinFuture gives us a look at the entire spec sheet of what the Galaxy S21 FE will have to offer.
As it stands, if this is the final spec-sheet for the Galaxy S21 FE, it would nestle right in between the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+. Power would be the same across the devices, with the Snapdragon 888 handling the heavy-lifting. But the biggest difference would come via the telephoto lens as the S21 FE would use an 8MP sensor compared to the 64MP lens found on the other two devices.
If the Galaxy S21 FE does actually launch next month, it’ll come at an extremely weird time. The Galaxy S21 has already been available for almost a year, with the rumor mill ramping up for the Galaxy S22. What remains to be seen is whether Samsung will be aggressively pricing the S21 FE, or if it will maintain the same price tag as its predecessor, coming in at $699.
There’s definitely nothing wrong with having options, but a 2022 launch for a phone that belongs amongst the 2021 lineup just feels a bit odd. Perhaps it really had something to do with the global chip shortages, or maybe Samsung didn’t want to potentially take the spotlight away from its foldable phones.
