With technology becoming integrated with our daily lives, it means that we are consuming more electronic gadgets than ever. This in turn has created a bit of a problem in terms of electronic waste, but Lenovo seems to be trying to do their part with their new business-focused ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 laptops.
These laptops are part of the company’s business laptop portfolio that the company has tried to approach in a more environmentally-friendly manner. We’re talking about the use of recycled materials, like the black vegan leather and aluminum for the laptops itself, and also the use of recycled bamboo and sugarcane for its packaging.
So if you’re concerned about your electronics having a negative impact on the environment, hopefully these design changes will make you feel a bit better about it.
As for performance, the ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 laptops will be powered by AMD’s CPUs. With the Z13, it will use the AMD Ryzen PRO U-series CPUs, while the Z16 will use the AMD Ryzen PRO H-series. Both of which will feature the use of integrated AMD Radeon graphics as well as Microsoft’s Pluton security processor.
In terms of display, the Z13 will come with a 2.8K OLED screen while the Z16 will sport a 4K OLED screen, both of which support Dolby Vision and have low blue light. They are also equipped with a large 120mm haptic ForcePad, Dolby Atmos Speaker Systems, and Dolby Voice AI with noise cancellation tech so you can join video conference calls without background noise being too much of a disturbance.
They also have built-in fingerprint readers integrated into the keyboard, and come preloaded with Windows 11. Both laptops will be going on sale this May with the ThinkPad Z13 priced starting at $1,549, while the ThinkPad Z16 will retail for $2,099.
