US Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G finally gets Android 12 update

Last month, Samsung pushed out the Android 12 update for the international version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G smartphone. This was a bit unfortunate for users in the US who were still waiting on the update, but it looks like the wait wasn’t one that was too long because it appears that Android 12 is now available for the US version of the phone.

If you happen to live in the US and own the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G, the update should now be rolling out to devices in the US. For those who bought the carrier-locked version of the phone, the firmware version that you should be looking out for is F707USQS2EUL9, while those who got the unlocked model will have the F707U1UEU2EUL9 firmware version.

Users should receive a notification informing them that an update is ready and available for download, but usually these updates are pushed out in phases so for some, you might not have the notification yet. Alternatively, you can also try to manually pull the update by going to your phone’s Settings > Software update and then check if there is an update waiting for you.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is the second iteration of the Galaxy Z Flip series of foldable smartphones from Samsung. It was originally launched back in the middle of 2020 where it initially came with Android 10, but was later updated to Android 11 last year, so with all the changes and new features Google brought to Android 12, this is an update that users can look forward to.
