Supposed Pixel 6a Retail Box Leaks

0

The Google Pixel 6a is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2022, and a new leak shows what seems to be the retail package of the upcoming smartphone. The post shows a photo of the Pixel 6a In a box, and according to the source, this is the actual packaging for the upcoming device. No other details were provided, unfortunately, aside from the image of the product packaging.

The box seems to confirm the design of the Pixel 6a, which was predicted to have a similar look to the Google Pixel 6. However, the 6a will come with a smaller 6.2-inch display, as well as a lower-resolution camera set-up. If true though, this shouldn’t be an issue as Google has shown that optimized software can bring good performance to phones with modest specs.

Ever since the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro were launched last year, rumors regarding the next Pixel A-series smartphone have continued to pop up around the internet. Currently, the Pixel 5a is Google’s main mid-range device, replacing the Pixel 4a and 4a 5G which were released back in 2020.

There’s also been speculation that the Google Pixel 6a might make an appearance in this year’s Google I/O event, which is scheduled for May 11-12 this year. Some sources also predict that Google might show off the rumored Pixel Watch at the event, but it might not be released until later in the year, to coincide with the launch of the Pixel 7.

While Google primarily makes premium Android smartphones, it offered users a mid-range device in the form of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL back in 2019. Both devices featured the same software features found on the more expensive Pixel flagships, although were toned down in terms of hardware and design. The Pixel 3a series was soon followed by the 4a and 4a 5G. While the Pixel 5a takes the spot as Google’s current mid-range phone, it’s only available in the United States and Japan due to worldwide component shortages.
