Unlike a lot of its competitors, Samsung hasn’t really made a play for fast charging. At the moment, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a charging speed of 45W, which is not too bad and somewhat respectable, but it clearly lags behind some of its competitors that offer speeds of 65W or faster.
Now, if you were hoping that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 smartphone could see a similar upgrade, you might be disappointed to learn that will not be happening. This is according to a tweet by Mukul Sharma who undercovered a listing on a certifications database that lists the Galaxy Z Fold 4 as having a charging speed of 25W.

This is essentially the same speed as its predecessor, which means that nothing will change on that front, although some rumors have suggested that the battery on the Fold 4 might actually be marginally smaller.
There is some good news though because the listing also lists the Galaxy Z Flip 4 to have a charging speed of 25W. This is actually a slight bump up from its predecessor which had 15W charging. We doubt that a difference of 10W is going to make a very huge difference, but it’s still better than sticking to 15W.
Keep in mind that none of this is official yet so it stands to reason that things could change ahead of the official reveal, so take this with a grain of salt for now.
