Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 leaked benchmarks confirms use of new chipset

0

We have been hearing rumors that Qualcomm is expected to launch an update to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and now thanks to leaked benchmarks, it looks like those rumors might be true, and that one of the companies expected to utilize the new chipset is Samsung.

This is based on a Geekbench listing for the US-bound Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, one of Samsung’s upcoming foldables. According to the benchmarks, it looks like the phone will be using the new Qualcomm chipset, which for the most part is said to be similar to its predecessor but will feature higher clock speeds, making it faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

We guess this shouldn’t really have come as a surprise, although in all honesty if the phones had used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 it would have been fine. Recent reports have suggested that the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset could be launched later than usual, but that would be in line with the rumors of the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s launch date which will most likely take place in August.

Other rumors include a possible bump in battery size and support for slightly faster charging, and also a potentially lower price. Samsung will also most likely announce the Galaxy Z Fold 4 alongside the Flip 4, so be sure to check back with us in the coming months for more updates on the new phones.
