Insta360 has made a name for themselves by creating cameras that allows users to capture 360-degree videos. This gives photographers and videographers more options when it comes to capturing footage and never really have to worry about whether or not a short is in the frame.
Now it looks like the company is expanding on its offerings to drones by launching the Insta360 Sphere. This is a drone attachment designed for drones like the DJI Mavic Air 2/2S that will allow drone users to capture the same 360-degree photo and video but up in the sky.
According to Insta360, what makes the Sphere different from other 360-degree cameras is the way it has been mounted. The company says that the Sphere’s lenses have been mounted in such a way that renders the drone “invisible” to the camera, allowing users to capture true 360-degree photos and videos without the body of the drone getting in the way.
The Sphere will come with Insta360’s FlowState Stabilization technology that will help stabilize the camera so that footage captured from the camera is smooth. The camera itself will feature a relatively wide aperture of f/2 and will be able to record video at 5760×2880@30/25/24fps, 3840×1920@50/30fps, and 3008×1504@100fps.
There is also support for various photo modes like Standard, HDR, Interval, Night Shot, Starlapse, and Burst. The Sphere will also come with a 1,050mAh battery that is said to be good for about 48 minutes.
