Following the launch of its gaming-centric F4 GT Android phone, Xiaomi’s POCO brand – now its own company – has been continuously teasing its upcoming POCO F4 5G, a more “grounded” variant of its F4 series, and follow-up to last year’s POCO F3. More specifically, the company’s Indian Twitter account has been posting partial specs and images of the new phone.

Based on several posts from the account, the POCO F4 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 5G chipset, which is the same SoC found inside the POCO F3. The phone will also come with LiquidCool 2.0 technology, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, as well as a hardware design which POCO describes as “striking,” with “ergonomic flat sides.”
The inclusion of the Snapdragon 870 processor is an interesting move, considering that the company has previously used it for the older POCO F3. There have been reports that the POCO F4 5G is simply a rebranded Redmi K40s, which if confirmed shouldn’t be too surprising, given that several Redmi and POCO phones share similar hardware designs and internal specifications.
With that said, POCO fans should keep an eye out for the official launch date, which according to the brand should soon make its global debut. No official release date has been given as of this time, but expect to see more updates from the POCO Twitter page.
