In response to complaints and issues surrounding some of its devices, OnePlus has issued a new software update for several of its phones, including the OnePlus 8 series, OnePlus 8T, and the OnePlus 9R. The new update is known as OxygenOS C.21, and brings some much-needed fixes to the said devices.
Reports came from several users in the OnePlus forums after downloading and installing last Month’s May 2022 software update, which unfortunately came with several bugs. The new update aims at fixing these problems, and the patch’s changelog lists fixes for screen lock issues, problems with gesture response, crashes within the camera app, and overall system stability. The update is currently available for users in India, although it should roll out to more regions in the coming days and weeks.
One thing to note however is that this particular update does not come with the newer June 2022 software patches, so users might still find the May 2022 patch on their OnePlus phones.
OnePlus’ OxygenOS platform has been under some scrutiny in the past few months, especially with the proposed merging of certain OxygenOS and Color OS (Oppo’s proprietary UI), much to the dismay of die-hard OnePlus fans.
With that said, owners of the listed OnePlus devices should be able to receive the new update soon once it makes its way to their respective regions.
