In Search and Maps, Google makes it simpler to find and support LGBTQ+-owned companies

In order to better serve U.S. business owners, Google has announced the development of a new LGBTQ+ owned attribute. The purpose of this is to provide people a better understanding of neighborhoods and a sense of the neighborhood.

Businesses in the U.S. having verified business profiles can add LGBTQ+ owned characteristic to their profile as of this Wednesday to simplify and streamline the procedure. It is comparable to other existing characteristics offered by the search engine giant, such as Black-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned. Businesses can find instructions on adding the attributes on a separate Google support page.

According to Google’s blog post, the new qualities not only assist consumers in locating such groups but also facilitate a variety of business models. The enhanced LGBTQ+ attribute can be seen as a continuation of Google’s prior efforts to support the LGBTQ+ community by giving LGBTQ-friendly businesses access to tools and resources that can help them thrive all year long.

Businesses can already mark themselves on Google as “LGBT-friendly” or “Transgender Safe Spaces.” Users can now check whether a place of business supports gender-neutral restrooms thanks to a tool the company unveiled last year.

Google aspires to unite gay people to celebrate pride, honor, and history all year long by placing this flag in the windows of small businesses.
