The Poco F4 GT is one of the latest phones from Poco. It boasts some pretty impressive high-end specs like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a triple camera setup on the back, and also shoulder buttons that can be used for gaming.
It’s a pretty solid handset, but unfortunately it lacks one feature – wireless charging. A lot of flagship phones we’re seeing these days come with wireless charging support so we’re not sure why Poco has excluded this feature from the F4 GT, but don’t worry, if you love the phone but think it could benefit from wireless charging, we’ll show you how to add wireless charging to the phone with a few simple and affordable accessories.
What you will need
Before we start, we should point out that in order to give the Poco F4 GT wireless charging capabilities, there are a couple of additional accessories you will need, and this includes:
- A wireless charging adapter
- A wireless charger
Wireless charging adapter
As the phone does not come with wireless charging tech, a wireless charging adapter essentially retrofits the technology into an external accessory that connects to the phone via its USB-C port. It then draws energy from the wireless charging mat and sends it through the USB-C port, which then recharges your phone’s battery.
Ideally we would have preferred native wireless charging built into the phone, but given that these wireless charging adapters are pretty small and slim, it shouldn’t be an issue slipping it into a case. Depending on your case and its tolerances, some cases might make it a tight fit, so you might need to find something that has a little more give.
The downside to this method is that it takes up your USB-C port so you will have to remove it if you need the port for wired charging or if you need to transfer data from your phone to your computer and vice versa.

Wireless charger
The next thing you will need a wireless charging mat to charge your phone on. If you’re new to wireless charging and don’t already have one lying around at home or the office, then these are some charging mats you might be interested in checking out:

Generally speaking, these wireless charging solutions don’t have the same charging speeds compared to higher-end phones that come with built-in wireless charging, especially newer models that offer way faster wireless charging. But if the convenience of wireless charging is more important to you than the speeds, these wireless chargers will be more than capable of getting the job done.
