Insta360 is a brand that some of you might be familiar with. For those unfamiliar, the company creates cameras that can capture 360-degree videos, making it the perfect camera if you’re looking to film yourself doing outdoor events as it can easily capture everything around it.
The company is now back with its latest, most expensive, and possibly its most powerful camera to date, the Insta360 One RS 1-inch 360 Edition which they have co-developed with Leica. If the name sounds confusing and familiar, it is because the company had previously launched the One RS, but the main difference here is that the One RS 1-inch 360 Edition comes with dual 1-inch CMOS sensors and a larger battery attachment.
Similar to the company’s previously-released cameras, the One RS 1-inch 360 Edition is a modular camera. This means that users can mix and match certain parts of the camera according to their needs. The camera’s capabilities have also been improved where it can now shoot 6K video at 30fps, as well as capture 21MP photos.
The use of the new larger sensors is also said to improve its low-light performance and provide better dynamic range, although the downside is that the camera is heavier than its predecessors at 239g. It is also water-resistant up to a certain degree with an IPX3 rating, so you might not want to take it with you for dives.
If you’re keen on getting your hands on the Insta360 One RS 1-inch 360 Edition, it is priced at $800 and is available for purchase via the company’s website.
