Update: The article was been corrected to reflect that the new tablet is the HTC A101 rather than the HTC A100, which made its debut late last year.
Remember back in the day when HTC used to make tablets? For those unfamiliar, the company actually made the Nexus 9 tablet for Google, but as many of you might already know, the company has been kind of quiet on the mobile front since, at least until recently when they announced a new metaverse-focused smartphone.
But it seems that wasn’t all HTC had up their sleeves this year. It appears that the company has since announced a new tablet, the HTC A101. The new tablet sports a 10.1-inch LCD display with a 1920×1200 resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a Unisoc Tiger T618 chipset accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded via microSD.
There is also a 5MP camera on the front, a dual camera on the back comprising of 16MP main camera and 2MP sensor for its ultrawide camera and a 5MP selfies camera with integrated AI Face Unlock. Other features include a 7,000mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 4G network support. As we said, it’s not the most exciting tablet we’ve seen, but it should still be a solid tablet option for those looking for an alternative to Samsung.
