If you’re like me, you’re always looking for recommendations from friends when it comes to finding new music to listen to. I have a wide friend group, and because of that, it means that I could get anything from K-Pop to Death Metal in a sweep of new music recommendations.
Now Spotify has introduced a new Friends Mix feature where you can listen to a personalised playlist based on what your friends are listening to at the time.
In order for you to get access to a friend mix, you need to have started a “blend” with your friends first. We have a guide on how to make a blend if you haven’t done it already.
Once you’ve created a blend with your friends, you’ll be able to find a new playlist in your Made for You hub called Friend Mix. The idea is that the more blends you make with your friends, the more music options you’ll have in your Friend Mix playlist.
In return, your friends will also have more recommendations on their side from the music that you love being shared with them. These playlists will be updated daily, so there is always something new to listen to whenever you want it. Hopefully, this will help both you and your friends to expand your music tastes and find your new favourite tunes.
This feature is going to be available for both free and premium users of Spotify on desktop and iOS, but we can expect the rollout to come to Android shortly.
