Motorola Announces New Android Tablet

While Motorola is no stranger to Android tablets, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a proper tablet device from the company, which has mostly focused on smartphones in the past few years. With that said, however, it seems that this is all about to change with the recent unveiling of the Moto Tab G62, a budget-friendly Android tablet.

Announced on Motorola India’s website, the device bears a strong resemblance to some of the recent offerings from Lenovo, which isn’t surprising given that Motorola is a subsidiary of the former. The tablet comes with a 10.6-inch LCD panel with a 2000 x 1200 pixel resolution, two 8-megapixel cameras on the front and back, as well as a metal build.

Inside the tablet is a Snapdragon 680 chipset, partnered with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, with support for micro-SD card expansion. It seems that the tablet is geared towards media consumption with the inclusion of a quad-speaker set-up, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Dolby Atmos Audio. The tab G62 will also come with an LTE variant.

The tablet is expected to go on sale in India soon, retailing for around $190-200 when converted. There’s no mention of a global release at the moment, however.
