With the recent launch of Android 13 on Google’s Pixel devices, we’ve started seeing predictions as to when the latest Android version might make its way to other smartphones and tablets, although only a few companies have made their plans regarding Android 13 publicly known. With that being said, however, it seems that owners of the Nothing Phone 1 now have a timeline to look forward to.
While we are working around the clock, we won't rush on updates at the expense of user experience. This also applies to Nothing OS based on Android 13 where we aim to ship a beta version by the end of the year, with a full release in early 2023.

In an online post on his official Twitter page, Nothing CEO Carl Pei announced that the company is aiming to ship out a beta version of Android 13 by the end of 2022, with a full version release planned sometime in early 2023. He also commented that Nothing has been monitoring user feedback, and as such has released three system updates for the phone since its launch, with updates for camera performance, battery, and other software features.
Launched back in July 2022, the Nothing Phone 1 goes head-to-head with other Android smartphones in the mid-range segment, with a starting price below $500. It features a fully-transparent design on the rear panel, which houses the phone’s trademark “Glyph Interface,” an LED notification system which gives the phone a unique design edge over competing Android phones.
As for Android 13, it seems that Nothing Phone owners will have to wait a bit more to get their hands on the new update.
