Gamers looking for a new zombie-slaying action fest are in for a treat – after spending several years in development limbo, Dead Island 2 finally made its appearance during Gamescom 2022, alongside several other major AAA video game titles. The game was announced for several gaming platforms, including Google Stadia.
The announcement was made by way of a trailer which showed off some cinematic cutscenes, as well as gameplay footage. Dead Island was originally launched in 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360. The game has since spawned of a couple of spin-off titles, and although a mainline sequel was planned, it spent several years in development, that is until its official unveiling at Gamescom.
Dead Island 2 is only one of many AAA game titles that are headed to Google Stadia. Since the platform’s inception, several other video game titles from major development studios have been available, including the likes of Resident Evil Village, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cyberpunk 2077, and DOOM Eternal, to name a few.
In other Stadia news, it’s been found out that the platform might soon introduce an achievement system, with players spotting a prompt that they are free to play certain game demos until they hit certain achievements in-game.
