There are many articles on the internet. Some take a longer time to read, while others are shorter. There is no right or wrong in terms of article length since it really depends on the kind of topic you’re looking for, but if you’re short on time and want the information delivered faster, Google could help with that.
As discovered by Brodie Clark, it appears that Google is testing out a new feature in its search results where they will be applying a “Quick Read” label to articles that have a reading time of 5 minutes or less. This means that if you want to find an article that won’t take up too much of your time, then you can look out for the websites with the “Quick Read” label on them.
Now obviously 5 minutes is just a guide and some people might take less time to read while others may take longer, but the general idea is that the articles with this label are generally shorter.
That being said, we have to wonder if articles marked as “Quick Read” will end up being favored by Google in search results, with the idea being that the article is more succinct and gets to the point in less time. There is no word on when the feature will be rolling out to everyone, so if you don’t see it yet, don’t worry about it.
