ASUS ROG Phone 6 gaming smartphones now available in the US

A couple of months ago, ASUS officially took the wraps off its latest gaming smartphones – the ASUS ROG Phone 6 series. The phone was initially announced in the UK, but if you’re interested in getting your hands on the phone, then you might be pleased to learn that they are finally available for order in the US.

Both the ASUS ROG Phone 6 and the ROG Phone 6 Pro are available unlocked from Amazon with a price starting at $999. Considering the specs and features that are offered by both handsets, these prices do seem pretty fair, especially if you’re after one of the best gaming smartphones in the market today.

As a quick recap for those who missed the original announcement back in July, the ROG Phone 6 and the 6 Pro are both powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets. This is the latest and most powerful chipset from Qualcomm so it should be able to handle any game thrown at it.

Both phones will also feature the use of a 6.78-inch display with a buttery smooth 165Hz refresh rate, making it faster and smoother than the majority of smartphones out there that typically top out at 120Hz. The phones also pack a triple camera on the back consisting of a 50MP main shooter, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro.

The phones will also utilize ASUS’ GameCool 6 cooling system that improves the heat dissipation over its predecessor by up to 10-degrees Celsius. There are also features like ultrasonic sensors that can be used for the AirTrigger 6 for gaming, and last but not least, both phones will pack a 6,000mAh battery.

The main difference between both phones is the RAM, where the ROG Phone 6 maxes out at 12GB, while the Pro version goes up to 18GB.
