If you’re not completely sold on Samsung’s foldable phones and you’re after a handset with a similar smartphone-tablet hybrid form factor, then you’re in luck because Vivo has officially announced its latest foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold+.

Vivo is no stranger to the foldable smartphone scene as the company had previously launched the Vivo X Fold, but if you want the latest model, the X Fold+ could be worth checking out as it packs the latest hardware you can expect from a flagship phone in 2022.

We’re talking about the use of Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset which boasts a 30% reduction in energy consumption and a boost of 10% in performance. It is also accompanied by 12GB of RAM and will come in 256GB or 512GB storage options. As for the display, the phone features an 8-inch foldable display on the inside with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a 6.53-inch outer display with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The display can be adjusted in multiple angles so you don’t have to choose to have it open or shut. The handset has also been given an upgrade in the camera department with a 50MP main shooter, a 48MP ultrawide, a 12MP telephoto and an 8MP periscope camera.

The battery will also be bumped up slightly from its predecessor from 4,600mAh to 4,730mAh, so combine that with the Snapdragon’s improvements in energy use and you should be able to squeeze more battery out of it. There is also support for 80W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging.

The Vivo X Fold+ will be officially going on sale in China on the 29th of September where it is priced starting at around $1,400, making it slightly more pricey than the original Vivo X Fold.
