One of the issues with cable TV in the past is that you were kind of forced to buy packages, meaning that if you only wanted to watch a few channels, you could just pay for those. The rise of internet streaming has given customers a lot more choice in that regard, although until now, YouTube TV has gone with that older model.
To give you a bit of context, YouTube TV is priced at $65 a month for the YouTube TV Base Plan which includes over 85 channels. This is fine if you have family members who watch other channels, but if it’s just you, then this is obviously expensive. The good news is that YouTube is now making changes where users can subscribe to just the channels that they want, which you can check out the full list below:

This means that if you only want HBO Max, you can opt to subscribe to that instead. Or if you want HBO Max and the NBA League Pass, you have that option too. The upside is that if you only watch a few channels, you could end up saving some money, especially since different channels are priced differently depending on the company.
For those who plan to go down this route, you can rest assured that all the features of YouTube TV will still be there for you to access, which includes unlimited DVR and the ability to have up to three simultaneous streams, so the main difference would be which channels you want to subscribe to and pay for.
