Google’s much-rumored foldable Pixel phone has been the subject of a ton of speculation online, and over the past few months we’ve seen some details pop up every now and then, including some predictions saying that Foxconn is supposedly in charge of manufacturing the phone.
New specs regarding the device’s display have emerged, according to information from tech informant Kuba Wojciechowski. Codenamed “Felix,” the Google-branded foldable will come equipped with displays manufactured by Samsung. The internal folding screen will measure 123mm x 148mm, with a resolution of 1840×2208 pixels. It will also have a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits, and might come with a 120Hz refresh rate.
This isn’t the first time that the Pixel fold has been mentioned, though – a post on Chinese social media site Weibo made earlier this year predicts that the foldable will come with a “single-hole flexible screen,” alongside a 50-megapixel periscope camera with multi-focal segments, as well as a Google Tensor 2 chip. It will also come with a Sony IMX787 sensor, and a ceramic chassis.
It was also initially believed that the Pixel Fold might be launched this year, although the speculated date has now been moved to early 2023.
