Every year without fail, Samsung has launched new flagship phones, and while the company has stopped sharing how many units they have managed to sell, it’s safe to assume that they move a fair number of units otherwise what would be the point of continuing to sell them, right?
It turns out that this year, the Galaxy S22 has performed rather well. During Samsung’s Q3 2022 earnings call, the company revealed that the Galaxy S22 made more money for the company compared to its predecessor did back in 2021.
While Samsung did not state exactly how much money they made, they did state that overall, their high-end smartphones had good sales performance. Now, this doesn’t mean that the Galaxy S22 sold more units than the Galaxy S21. It is possible that maybe this year, more customers were opting for the higher-end models compared to last year, which means that Samsung is making more money but not necessarily selling more units.
It will be interesting to see if this momentum can be carried over to the Galaxy S23 in 2023. This is because according to the rumors, the upgrade we can expect to see in the Galaxy S23 will be incremental at best, and that Samsung will not necessarily be making huge changes in terms of hardware or design.
